El objetivo de esta publicación es aportar un instrumento a padres y madres para trabajar con sus hijos e hijas de entre 6 y 12 años la educación para la salud. Los niños aprenden a través del juego, la actividad lúdica es su manera de conocerse y conocer también la realidad que les rodea. El juego les permite interiorizar conceptos, habilidades y valores que les permitirán tener un desarrollo integral y que les serán útiles para manejarse con sus amigos y con ellos mismos. Los cuentos, la imaginación, son los idiomas que más les motivan.  Leídos conjuntamente con padres y madres, los cuentos aportan una herramienta divertida y mágica que facilita muchísimo el abordaje de temas de interés con los hijos e hijas dentro de un marco lúdico, relajado y cálido que fortalecerá el vínculo con ellos, clave para su desarrollo afectivo y personal. Por este motivo, las autoras han escogido el lenguaje de los cuentos para enseñar a los niños conceptos, actitudes y valores relacionados con la educación para la salud.
